The King of the Minerals” Magnesium chloride hexahydrate (MgCl2.6H20) is the most soluble and bioavailable natural form of magnesium for cells, requiring no further digestion after dilution. Dissolved magnesium chloride is already in the right form for absorption by tissue cells. It is a TRANSMEMBRANE electrolyte salt which can be absorbed via gut wall in concentration as per spring water, or in larger amounts via bathing and footsoaking. Your gut wall and skin epidermis are both membranes that work as a protective lining. Magnesium bathing offers the opportunity for the body to detox and excrete wastes via skin. You can also remineralise filtered drinking water to increase hydration capacity (tastes great too). Our magnesium chloride (food grade) has much more elemental magnesium (15-16%) than magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts – 9%). Magnesium sulphate can also be irritating to skin and gut, whereas magnesium chloride hexahydrate salt flakes, with the extra 2% sea trace minerals, is much gentler for skin and gut lining. It is not extracted via drilling into the mountains as in ‘solution mining’, which introduces contaminants, resulting in industrial grade magnesium chloride.
